Lansing, Mich. — Michigan Saves, the nation’s first nonprofit green bank, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Christian Financial Credit Union to expand access to affordable home improvement financing for residents in metro Detroit. This collaboration strengthens Michigan Saves’ ability to provide solutions that improve home energy efficiency, enhance safety, and protect public health across communities.
Through its partnership network of lenders, contractors, utilities, and government agencies, Michigan Saves offers financing for a range of home improvement needs from energy efficiency and clean energy upgrades to critical public health protections through its Lead Poisoning Prevention Fund and Septic Replacement Loan Program. These efforts ensure Michigan homeowners, regardless of income or geography, can access funding that supports healthier, more resilient homes.
“This partnership with Christian Financial reinforces our shared commitment to helping families invest in the safety, comfort, and efficiency of their homes,” said Sally Talberg, president and CEO of Michigan Saves. “Whether it’s upgrading insulation, replacing a failing septic system, or eliminating lead hazards, we want all Michiganders to have access to the affordable financing they need to make impactful home improvements.”
Christian Financial, which serves more than 60,000 members across metro Detroit, shares Michigan Saves’ mission of community impact and access.
“Helping our members improve their quality of life is central to our values,” said Patricia Campbell, president and CEO of Christian Financial. “We’re proud to partner with Michigan Saves to ensure more families can afford vital home upgrades that promote long-term health, safety, and energy savings.”
With more than 50,000 Michigan households served and more than $675 million in total financing deployed, Michigan Saves continues to expand its reach—making meaningful improvements accessible to homeowners across the state.
