To earn the electrification badge, contractors must take all five training modules and pass the accompanying quizzes. In order to maintain the badge, HVAC contractors must install at least four heat pumps per year. Additional requirements may be considered in the future, such as spot-checks and follow-ups with customers.

20 minutes – This module ties together all components of whole-home electrification, including heat pumps, energy efficiency, solar, and appliances.

22 minutes – This module takes you through the results of several multiyear studies on cold-climate heat pumps installed in Minnesota. Installations include standard replacement and hybrid configurations that answer some common questions about heat pumps in cold climates.

31 minutes – This module starts out with opportunities for heat pumps in Michigan and transitions into heat pump retrofits and associated costs and savings in Colorado.
