Northern Initiatives is a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) headquartered in Marquette with offices throughout Michigan. For more than 30 years, Northern Initiatives has provided loans and business services to entrepreneurs, small business owners and nonprofits who create jobs and help their communities thrive. Through our partnership with MI Saves, we can offer loans up to $75,000 for typically up to 84 month terms and in some cases we can go up to 120 months. Interest rates are as low as 0% with utilities who offer interest rate buy downs.
